Members of the congregation were welcoming. I had been invited by a colleague to attend her investiture as chair of the newly formed disability committee. (I am almost deaf.) The women sitting on either side of me helped me with the words of the hymns and prayers. The choir and the music were uplifting and through the evening I thought about the sermon. Aftet the service the pastor took time to have what became an invigorating talk with me.(I haf served on President Obama's 9-member disability policy group, the National Council on Disability.) Friendship Baptist Church is one of the leading churches in Atlanta. Many strong ties to the community and the Atlanta University Center. If you have not had the opportunity to worship with them to see their new edifice, please take the time!!! Great Pastor...Wonderful Members...A Beacon of Hope in the Community!!!
