The sociology, anthropology, and fine arts department is awesome but I am biased! They actually care for your success. You are not just one in a group of 300 like it is in bigger schools, they know you by name.

... Even though I only attended NMHU as-a-Freshman ('65-'66), I have fond memories of growing up. Far away from "Home" in Bflo./Niagara, my many new friends, family-&-extended family there helped me to feel welcome. From Faculty, to Students-&-Las Vegas Residents, it was a + experience. I especially loved the nearby Mountain Vista's & beautiful weather.

NMHU has been a very rewarding experience for me. I graduate this May and all my teachers, professors and Doctors have been so helpful and kind to me. I do most of my classes on line since I live in Santa Fe but I love to take a ride to Las Vegas and take my class there, or ask for help when I need it and then I get in the hot springs. My only bad experience with going to the college was the first time meeting Dr. Ortiz and I lost my car keys, but my friend brought me another set of keys that I had at home and went to the hot springs and had a great day. Never did find those keys!!

I love the college. My daughter has went there so far for four years and she will be graduating next week from there. She is going to get her Master also there. She really have enjoyed the small campus, professor, the new friends she has made, and of course her track team these last four years. A great college and i would recommend it to any student who is looking for a low cost college.

Fantastic experience getting my MA in Art from Skinny Schooley at Highlands University. What wonderful faculty and knowledge they had to share. I personally went on to do great things in and for the arts....for one - as director of the Michael C. Rockefeller Arts Center, State University, New York. Thank you Highlands for a wonderful life.
