I come here a lot, I like the atmosphere, the staff is friendly and welcoming and their food is fresh and authentic. A full bar and parking don’t hurt either. I’m hooked on their Asambosas.

Awash serves the best Ethiopian in Chicago, without a doubt. My husband and I have been going there for years, after meeting disappointment at several other spots in the city. The food is consistently fresh and well prepared, the owners are lovely, they're open until TWO A.M. (Hello, post-party comfort food!) The restaurant itself is always tidy and cozy and quiet. Honestly, we're shocked by how quiet -- more people should know about this place!!

This came highly recommended and it hit a home run. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves as the weather was challenging. The food was great and we even enjoyed traditional dance with the manager.

A gem. Wonderful food at very reasonable price served by amazing staff (esp. Mercy)! The lamb was juicy and sumptuous and the vegetarian option preserved the texture while enhancing the food's original flavor. You definitely should try the coffee and the special honey wine. The decoration was simple but storied: ask your staff and they would share! So glad my European friends enjoyed their first Ethiopian culinary experience here.

Excellent food and service. The beef and spinach sambusas where so delicious. Our waitress walked us through the menu and chose excellent entrees for us to share. Friendly atmosphere and great menu. We’ll definitely be back!
