Non-profit organization Blue Bear School of Music was founded as “Blue Bear Waltzes School of Genuine Music” in the summer of 1971 by a rock band called “Wolfgang & Strauss” – “Wolfgang” was a dog, and “Strauss,” two brothers in the band. Before moving to San Francisco to make their fame and fortune (and to found a music school), they lived in Northern California on the Bear River.

Been participating in Blue Bear classes and band workshops for 5 years now. Simply put, Blue Bear ROCKS! It has help me progress from an intermediate to an advanced guitar player all while giving me the platform to live out my fantasy of being in a rock band and performing live. Tomorrow is my last session of beginning ukulele with Matt. I loved this course... It was a quick way to learn the basics and some fun songs! It's been 11 weekly sessions and I can now play and sing Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, Happy Birthday, Stand By Me, Brown Eyed Girl and a few others. Easy to get to and plenty of parking in the evenings too. I highly recommend Blue Bear!

A great school that gave me the support and experience to reconnect with music. After taking several band performance workshops throughout the years I was able to to branch out and have been singing professionally for seven years. Blue Bear Rocks and I highly recommend this school to anyone that has an interest in pursuing music on a personal or professional level!
