Boston Sail Loft
- 80 Atlantic Avenue, Boston, MA 02110 USA
Company Description
From our overflowing cups of chowder to the signature Oreos on the bar, the Boston Sail Loft has established itself as a Boston institution since 1984. We started out with a simple idea- serve fresh seafood at a great price, with an easy going atmosphere and great service.

One of the best seafood places we ate at in this area. Definitely recommend the clam chowder, some of the best I have had. The staff was very friendly and personable. The environment was nice and laid back. Overall we really enjoyed our meal at this restaurant.

Location and views are amazing. We went for dinner and were seated at a table adjacent to the bartenders working area next to the bar, despite there only being a handful of people at the restaurant. The staff did move us to another table at our request. The food was good, but i will probably not eat dinner here again. This would be a great place for mingling and cocktails in the summer months.

Outstanding service and a really fun menu. I started my meal with the shrimp cocktail, and really liked that they priced it per shrimp (I had five). For my entree I had a steamed lobster with a side salad, and both were excellent. For dessert I indulged with the apple tart. I enjoyed my dining experience and will definitely be back.

We went for the chowder....but damn those lobster rolls were the best we had the whole trip ! I'd say try to the hot butter version, especially in these winter months, but can't go wrong either way. It was brimming with lobster , nice thick chunks and not too much Mayo on the cold one. The clam chowder is THICK and filling(share a cup), the dill is a great touch. Not the best we had but very very good nonetheless.

The service is amazing, along with the food. I love the location and my husband always gets the chowder. My go-to are their hearty entree salads. The staff is welcoming and the owner lends personal attention; I had my birthday there and he came over and poured the champagne himself. There is a family atmosphere as he also employs his adult children. Go-you won't be disappointed!

Took a buddy of mine last week for dinner. The views are amazing. Food is good but could use a little update on the menu at some items are old-fashioned. Would have liked to see more of the farm to table influence that Boston is experiencing

Felt like a classic seafood house. Nothing fancy but good. The chowder was my favorite. The Lobster was well steamed and easy to crack open. The service was good, they even let us switch tables half way through.

One of the best chowders I’ve ever had! Place was packed solid when we got there but always a good sign for fresh food. Great quality overall but found the prices comparative to the area which all seemed inflated due to the high tourism. Service was really friendly and seemed very organized especially with the volume of guests coming in. As I said one of the best chowders with this incredible fresh dill that played well off the other ingredients. Certainly worth a visit.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Great place to stop for a classic New England Clam Chowder. Fast friendly service. Amazing clam chowder. Calamari was also well prepared with a light batter. Worth a visit if you’re visiting Boston.

6 stars. Oh man. Boston first time 5 years ago... looking for clam chowder. Asked a hotel concierge about Legal, and was recommended to Boston Sail Loft. Wish I could shake his hand, because that night I had the best clam chowder of my life. Fast forward to present, still the best clam chowder!! Repeated results. Plus good everything else. Service is great. I got a spot of butter on my white shirt, and Kailah our server offered club soda when I jokingly pointed out my boo boo. Great place. Always busy but never packed. See you next time we're in Boston!
