Their notifications system when it comes to financial aid is very poor. They will hit you with forms to fill out literally a week before classes begin as though they have an instant processing time. Thanks to their random system glitch in financial aid, HIST 101 is being flagged as out of scope for my degree when in fact both of my counselors have said that it is still a requirement for Graphic Design and many other degree programs there. Your solution is to have to me and every other student make accommodations to get up there to one of your campuses to fill out a document they should not even have to fill out. This is absolutely ridiculous and I cannot wait to be done with this college experience.
impressive experience for me. thank u all teachers and classmates. miss u guys a lot
Absolutely disgraceful. You purposely hire incompetent staff that know nothing about financial aid and career programs. The staff will purposely mislead you if you need help and cost you more time and money with classes you don't need. It's taken me 5 years to get a 2 year degree. Plus the staff will lie about classes and programs that are offered And on top of all that once a certain amount of credits is reached you charge students 50% more per semester for classes. So much for being affordable because I'm practically broke because of your system designed to sabotage students and charge them more. CSN doesn't care about students because you are a business so our money is the only thing that matters not student success. I hope someday CSN ends up in a lawsuit for these kind of practices.
The financial aid and cashier and registrar do not talk to each other and they are sitting right next to each other. Just spent a fucking hour getting the run around going from counter to counter. The employees have absolutely no give a fuck. You are way better off going to University of Phoenix. I hope the people I dealt with today get fired for poor customer service. Telling me with a smug face to have a nice day. When all they had to do is push a button and they would have had all my money!
Horrible institution, staff does not care about their jobs. You are told incorrect information from faculty on a regular basis and then it's to late to do anything about it because no one returns calls or emails, and when you go into the school to get things taken care of no ones there. Financial aid department at this place is the biggest joke I've ever seen, don't even bother. You'd have an easier time going to an art school.
The worst institution I've ever had the displeasure of being apart of. There is a real reason they almost lost their accreditation a few years back. I cannot wait to move out of this state and go to a real college.
Loved going here. Great school and very knowledgeable professors. They truly cared about our success! I would recommend going here first before you get transferred to any other school
Disregard the other one star reviews for now. CSN is an affordable college to get your AA. It's true that some departments are not the most helpful, but they don't warrant a one star, especially since you'll never need to interact with financial aid, the cashiers office, or advising if you actually know what you're doing. The many one star reviews I see are bashing bad instructor; again this avoidable if you know about the internet. If you research your class before enrolling, and the instructor via rate my professor, you'll have a great time. Will you get a bad apple? Yes, but every college is bound to an instructor that people hate. I'm rating CSN on my experiences based on research and my will to complete the degree. We're in college, we should be smart enough to look into things before pushing the button. Look for good instructors, know your status with financial aid if necessary, and if you have the drive, you'll see CSN can be a good college.
Non -supporting staff, the financial is a joke the counseling is a joke. Over priced with little to no resources. They make it so hard to get things done in all of the departments. The teachers and staff are useless and don't care or have any connection with the students. Horrible college in all aspects. 0-10 stars.
I had very good experience with teachers and many students. I had difficulties, yes, with some negative individuals but the overall school is great. The CSN try hard but it is impossible to elude and eliminate "Bugs" but there are many great teachers with passion and inspire you in an extraordinary way. I had all kind of circumstances but I really love this Institution. I grew there in many ways. God or the universe forces bless and make College of Southern Nevada even a much better place. I will never regret to step on board of this amazing Institution.
I don't even go here & never will. I WAS a prospective transfer student and called academic advising explaining that I need to meet with a counselor because all their appointments are literally always booked up and I got a very rude woman on the phone who was very condescending and didn't even listen to me speak or let me finish and told me to just go on the website and gave me a very unsincere apology and hung up on me. If this is how the staff act when I'm just trying to start school I can only imagine if I ever needed academic help. What a joke. Will be looking at other schools and will even go as far as to move states to get an education because college isn't cheap and I'll be damned if I give these ignorant people a dime.
