Mark up glasses prices by 80% v manufacturers retail website. When I questioned this they hung up the phone on me.
Great Experience, I have no problems and Dr. Israel seemed very nice!
Good Dr. but didn't make me feel welcomed.
Attempted to schedule an eye exam. Was told to hold (did so for 5 mins), then the receptionist hung up on me.
Dr. Nachum was thorough, professional, and timely.
I'm very surprised at the low reviews here, though several seem to be for his colleague, with whom I've had no dealings. I also do not purchase glasses or contacts through this office, so I cannot speak to that aspect of this practice either. But I've seen Dr. Nachum for about 15 years. I've had pretty poor vision and eye problems for the last 25 years or so, have seen a great many optometrists and opticians in three different states during that time, and am basing this review on those points of comparison. I am incredibly glad to have found Dr. Nachum. If you're looking for someone attentive, thorough, knowledgeable, and patient, this is your guy, and I have found him to be 100% rock solid on that account. In the age of increasingly brief, shallow, and disinterested doctor's appointments, I have never once felt churned through an appointment as quickly as possible, even when the office is notably busy. He consistently takes the time for a careful examination, and asks for, actually listens to, and responds to my questions and concerns with a level of detail that does not leave me with more questions than clear answers, or wondering if something is being disregarded or missed - and he will furthermore bring those points up at future appointments, which confirms that he heard me and is keeping tabs on what's going on. I find him very personable and warm during appointments; he somehow always remembers my squeamish dread of having my eyelids flipped up for examination, and his 'bedside manner' has never been less than impeccable. I appreciate that he keeps on top of the latest advances and tech in his field so that I can receive better and more accurate test results. When I recently decided to go for laser eye surgery - in my case, PRK, which is a bit rougher than LASIK, with a rather prolonged recovery time - he recommended an excellent surgeon (I did not blindly take his word for this either, and did my own research on surgeons and pricing), and then worked together with that surgeon both before each procedures and during my recovery to make sure I got exactly what I wanted out of the surgery and healed up without issue, all at no extra cost to me. Dr. Nachum stands out to me as a quality care provider, which I frankly find pretty hard to come by under the strictures of our current system. I trust him, and cannot imagine feeling in any better hands; I know of no greater recommendation for any doctor.
I went for an eye exam. When I asked about contacts, they wanted to charge me additional $150 for contact test!!! The Dr. Suggested couple of useless tests. I knew exactly what I wanted. Looking at their frames collection I realized that they are all over priced.
Dr. Marissa Israel is so wonderful! I'm legitimately looking forward to my next appointment. She took the time to explain everything and make sure I was comfortable with everything happening.
This is for Dr. Nachum. The one thing I always appreciate here is that they are timely, you don't have to wait a long time before you're seen, you are seen when you were scheduled to be seen. Dr. Nachum is very knowledgeable, and always explains exactly what is going on with my eyes. I would highly recommend him and in fact already have done so on multiple occasions.
I saw Dr. Israel for what was supposed to be a routine eye exam. She suggested that I get an additional test, which I knew my insurance would not cover, so I declined. Unbeknownst to me, she proceeded with one of the tests anyways. (I thought it was still part of the routine eye exam). When I got to the front desk to check out, the receptionist told me I owed $150! Dr Israel claimed that I agreed to the additional test, when I most certainly did NOT. She told me she wouldn't argue with me and that I owed the money to be paid immediately. Luckily Doctor Nachum agreed not to charge me the extra $100. Dr. Israel also talks in circles, a million miles an hour--probably a tactic to confuse patients and trick them into additional tests that they don't actually need. Would not recommend her at all.
