**Update** Gave this place a 5 star originally. One of my favorite places in Atlanta. Come here every Saturday morning. Today I was standing in line and watched as someone skipped the line to order. The employee at the counter was obviously friends with the woman in the hat from Marys. I called this out and both parties looked at me like I was out of line. Multiple customers witnessed and were bothered by the preferential treatment.
Best bagel I've had in ATL and I've tried all the "best". This is the only place that has the right chewy texture. Flavors are not super traditional but the sea salt and rosemary was pretty darn good!
I am so glad they finally opened up an actual shop! These bagels have been a staple around Atlanta, featured in other restaurants, but now you can go somewhere specifically for all of the bagels your heart desires! This place gets busy, bagels sell out, and expect to wait in line. Also expect it to be totally worth it. My personal favorite - the cinnamon sugar bagel loaded up with peanut butter, honey, and bananas.
Really awesome staff here. They were incredibly patient as I tried hard to pick a bagel I wanted. As someone from the nyc area, this place definitely exceeded my expectations. The shop is also in a pretty cool part of town. Overall, great stop for coffee and an amazing bagel.
I love bagels, and this fits the mold for a NY style bagel shop. Most of the food is really good, the coffee is good, the service is fast and there is a free parking lot across the street. They only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the seasoning on their everything bagel is not the best. The General Muir, 101 cafe and of course Bagelicious (the best bagel place) are better tasting. Emerald city also sells their bagels at San Francisco coffee in Candler park, but they're much slower there.
The cashier was super friendly and answered my millions of questions. She even suggested bagels & toppings and another employeed offered me a tasting of the smashed Avocado. I walked in wanting something completely unhealthy and left with a Sea Salt + Rosemary Bagel with Avocado & Tomato. The bagel itself had a great texture and the smashed avocado had nice flavor. It was a bit pricey but as a Private Chef I understand that you pay for quality! I'd definitely go back.
Well... let me say that the 3 stars has nothing to do with the quality of the bagels. However, at $24.00 a dozen they are way over-priced and probably not worth going back for at that price. On the brighter side... bagels were delicious and customer service was great as well. I might find myself back here to get an individual bagel in the future.
If you’re like me and love a made from scratch FRESH “real” bagel, then Follow the Yellow Brick Road straight to Emerald City Bagels! But be prepared to wait in line. Also don’t expect a NYC sized bagel, as for these are much smaller than your typical bagel. Oh and my kiddos love watching the kitchen make the bagels.
Best bagels in Atlanta, hands down. Can't get enough! Their fresh made bagel sandwiches are unbelievable. The wizard of oz theme is great as well.
Apparently you must be a mixed black to receive good customer service or talk proper. Just had one of the most racist moments of my life. Spoke with the manager Kaleb, he seemed sincere but to think in my own neighborhood Update: After speaking with one of the owners Deanna, she reassured me that Emerald City Bagels, does not and will not tolerate customers being mistreated. She was very warm and concerned with how I felt. Thanks
