Company Description

The inspiration for Firecakes is rooted in Karen’s family history. Her grandfather, William “Billy” Hobbs, was a baker in the logging camps of northern Wisconsin in the 1930s. Responsible for feeding large groups of working men, Billy used his limited resources to create tasty baked goods that would sustain the workers throughout their long and arduous workdays.

Oh! Those dreamy donuts on a sunny afternoon made my day. Absolutely stunning taste and wide variety of coffee, cakes and donuts. There was a long line of visitors which means that it’s a loved place.

DO NOT PLACE AN ONLINE ORDER FOR THIS PLACE. They will tell you they gave your order to a delivery person, and it will never show up. Imagine my surprise when I ordered more than a dozen donuts ($60 worth) to celebrate a key milestone with my team, and they never came. Major disappointment is an understatement. Frustration and complication was the result.

One of my favorite donut places in Chicago. Their donuts are very well done and are not too sweet. My favorite donut is the pistachio but definitely like their seasonal picks.

Cute, small donut shop with a history. Supposedly the best tasting donuts around. Got a variety and they were good. Was fun to share. No seating inside. No restroom. Coffee and water available. Ice cream donut sandwich seemed inviting but too much sugar for me. Three small tables outside with about 6 chairs total. Customer service was good. Fun to visit for a snack.

You can’t go wrong with combining donuts and ice cream! Stopped her when some friends suggested it and was not disappointed. They offer different combinations of both donuts and ice cream, which is going to make you want to try them all. Only complaint is this place is super tiny and does not offer any indoor seating, so we had to eat outside which only had three tables and a few chairs. I’d suggest getting it to go and walk somewhere with it.

Very delicious donuts. You can choose many different flavors. If I live close by, it would be my place for quick dessert. Coffee was just ok. I loved small malt donuts. Really good.

The donuts taste like what you would expect from a donut, the interior and the staff are great. Old fashioned once are nicer, settle sweet buttery taste. Nice place for a pick me up, or grab some if you are expecting guests

A delightful donut shoppé nestled in the heart of Chicago, it was a joy to stop here after a long day and grab two donuts which were exceptional. I had the pistachio buttermilk old fashioned and the gingerbread. Both were perfectly garnished and tasted well prepared. Even though the interior of this location is small, it's still perfectly cozy and with just enough space to enjoy your donuts quickly on the premises, lest you brave the windy winter atmosphere of Chicago like I did. Would highly recommend this place and look forward to returning some day

This is such a cute and fun place. The donuts are really good and I love the minis for the times you want a little sweet treat. They have several cafe drinks available and a good variety of donuts. The staff is really friendly and helpful. It's definitely for carryout as there are no tables and no room to stand around, so you grab your donuts and go. I'm happy I tried this place, it was a big win for me.
