Georgia Theatre is a live music venue and event space in Athens, Georgia. Many prominent national and local acts across all genres have performed at the Theatre, including rock, folk, country, indie, alternative, hip hop and electronic. Georgia Theatre opened as a music venue in 1978, and has a capacity of over 1000 people.

Why they would have a show start two hours after the doors open, I will never, they never respond to messages. I left the show an hour early because I was tired of standing. Also the doorman was quite rude and in a hurry for no particular reason as there was nobody behind me. Didn't particular feel welcomed or willing to come back.
I liked this place, it was pretty cool. And if you're a DD and want to buy a non-alcoholic drink, they are free refills! This place also has 2 stories, so you can watch the band from the ground or up top. Overall good experience, however not so good that it was memorable.
Saw an incredible show here when we were in Athens for a wedding. Getting in the for was a sloooooow process, though, so get here early. Ended up missing the start of the show because they only were checking IDs at one door. The bartenders were really quick even with a large crowd. The atmosphere can't be beat.
nice theatre after renovations due to the fire. quite a lot of talent comes through and put on a solid show. the floor, however, is slanted from the entrance all the way down the stage which is super difficult to get used to and leaves you a bit uneasy. good sound and decor with the proscenium and usually the bars are well stocked. the rooftop bar has separate bands that play after the acts in the main theatre and that’s a great spot for a drink and a hang.
Great concert venue. Has a balcony with seating and a bar on both bottom and top floor. Sound is great and it has a cool look to it. The rooftop restaurant has great burgers!
Saw Judah and the lion here just this past March. It’s a chance to get an intimate show with some amazing bands! Love seeing shows here!
This is one of my favorite venues to see a band in the area. The upstairs bar patio makes the place just a great. Place to chill and the seating options are great as well as the sound. Be prepared for. Lots of stairs Or wait For elevator
One of the cleanest music venues in the state! Absolute love the views from the roof smoking area. Will absolutely be coming back to check out more shows here.
Great space on the rooftop. Have visited several times and never disappointed. If you're hungry, it's also a nice place to grab a bite and a beverage. Love the pimento grilled cheese.
