Company Description

When Ron and Yasbel Flores opened Habana way back in 2001, they did it to celebrate the culture and cuisine of Yasbel's native Cuba. Nearly a decade later, Habana continues to provide Austinites with the authentic taste of the Islands.Ysabel left Cuba at the age of eighteen, coming to the States with her parents and soon landing in Austin. Years spent working in local restaurants and cafes gave her an education in the hospitality industry. In 2000 she married Ron Flores, an engineer looking to start a second career.

Fun place. The food was great and the happy hour drinks were good, maybe a little light on rum but tasty.

I absolutely love this place. I drive from San Antonio to Austin just to have the pork and rice here. The atmosphere is so nice and love just kicking back outside and enjoying my food. This is the first place that I go to visit if I am ever in Austin. The cooks and the owners really know what they are doing. I wish them many more years of success and great food.

We were really excited to try this place, but it was just okay. We loved the outdoor seating. It was disappointing that they didn't have any of their brewed beer on tap. My wife's paella came on a plate instead of a typical paella pan. She got the seafood and said it wasn't really flavorful like others she has had. I enjoyed the sweet plantains and empanada the most.

I’ve lived here almost 3 years and pass by this place every day. We finally decided to stop and I’m so glad we did. Such a cute little spot tucked away. Mojitos were delicious and the food. Omg the food. I left stuffed and with enough for probably four more days. Thanks for such a great experience!

I’m here to tell ya, I’m a rum connoisseur.. and this place has one of the best Rum lists of any restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food is amazing, the owner is a class act. Give him your business and keep him around so that rum lovers have a place in Austin to call home. Cheers!

As a Florida transplant, I sometimes find myself missing Cuban food. In Texas, it can be hard to find, so when I discovered Habana, I was very excited. I've been to this restaurant 3 times and have not been disappointed. The Cubano sandwich is delicious and tastes just like home. Service is always quick and friendly, and placing a to-go order is super easy. I plan on continuing to eat at Habana and look forward to trying other things on the menu, because they look amazing!

This place is legit. Food is always so good. If you've never had Cuban fare, give it a try. Comfort food is universal, and these guys have it down. The Cuban sandwich is a great place to start! Don't let some of the higher priced entrees scare you; unlike some restaurants, here you get good food AND plenty to eat. You won't leave hungry. They also have a great selection of wine, spirits, beer, and some very creative and tasty cocktails.

My name is Carlos and I am the owner of Lone Star Technology I was assigned to a ticket to repair and fix the network connection after completing immediately I begin to order some of their most known plates to take home as I was excited because my background is Cuban. When it comes to food I am a very critique person the plates that Habana is serving it is to die for They have the three most important things quality, taste and customer service. If you really know Latin food and taste you will never forget this please.

A wonderful meal!! The hostess / waitress was attentive and very much wanting to please. The Cuban/Caribbean decor was a nice complement without being gaudy. The music fit the theme, though a bit loud. But the food . . .! Good size portions. We had the caramelized plantains, the Cuban nachos, and the 3 meat sampler (beef, pork, chicken) which came with white rice, yellow rice, black beans and red beans. All of it was VERY tasty. A great way to end the day! If we lived locally, this would be a place we would frequently visit.
