Solidly middle of the road Chinese, probably best as take out. I ate in. The restaurant has strange lighting and there are signs of less than stellar hygiene standards. Unsurprisingly the restaurant caters to the local retired population and judging by the host's familiarity with the crowd it is a regular stop for most of the dining patrons. The food itself was very bland but not bad. The staff are very friendly but an average of about $20 per diner I could find better places to spend my money.
Best Hot and Sour Soup, ever! Hot and Sour Soup is one of my two "tests" for a good Chinese restaurant, and this is my standard for excellence. Lots of places have soups that aren't hot or sour, or they vary from visit to visit. This place is consistent and terrific. Of course, we can't have just the soup, but the rest of their food is also great. Be warned--lunch can be busy, but it is worth the wait. If I have any critique, it is that you sometimes have to trip a server to get a beverage refill, especially during busy times when they seemed more concerned about cleaning tables than taking care of customers. But I keep going back, and I hope you will too.
My top scene for tasty chinese food. I really loved this place. Feels similar to a cafe in Chicago I liked.
Lotus Hunan did a good job with lunch. It's pretty much standard fare Chinese food, but the service is really good. Despite being swamped with customers, they handled everything very efficiently. The curry chicken was tasty, the fried rice was okay. It's a great place for a quick meal.

This place has been a staple at my house for 20 years. The food is always hot and delicious. I'm partial to the shrimp fried rice myself and my daughter loves the sweet & sour chicken (sauce on the side) but, I've had guests sample just about everything on the menu and we continue to be drawn back time after time. Is it the food? Is it the location? Is it the price point? Is the the warm, funny staff? My fortune cookie says: It's all of the above and then some.

Decent food at a decent price. Nice casual environment. The staff are always super friendly. Every time I've gone for lunch, they are consistently busy but never to the point that you have to wait for a table. A friend and I meet here every month to have lunch and catch up. They're never in a rush to get you out so we stay and visit as long as we want.
