I visited Nellie's Sports Bar on August 4th. I had an awesome time. Tasty Buffet, Delicious cocktails, and Great Entertainment. Thanks for an enjoyable time after a long bad week. :-)
I used to like going here, but the past year has been bad. It’s become more of a white bar. As a POC, I’ve seen a lot of us leave because of racist treatment. I haven’t been in over a couple of weeks now. The place across the street — The Brixton -- welcomes us with open arms.
Always a guaranteed good time! Drinks and food are delish. I went to the Drag Brunch on 8/4/18 and had a ball. I highly recommend the drink OctoPussy... reminds me of an orange crush. The drag show itself was very entertaining and each of the girls did a wonderful job. This is my second brunch but I'll definitely be back!
Loved the chicken wings, the Blue Hawaian was great, but little to no liquor. They have happy hour specials! They have a water bucket so you can serve yourself and music is top charts and 90s pop! The Margaritas are delicious for $12 bucks!
I would give 0 stars if I could. Could barely even get in the door without dealing with a rude, crude, disrespectful varmint named MAG that Nelly’s is trying to pass off as security. My friends and I are classy and when we go out, we expect to be treated as such. We do NOT, however, expected to be treated like common criminals by some hood rat who is too excited about her little bit of authority. If I want to see someone in power, I will watch Ghost on Starz. GET RID OF HER OR LOSE MORE CUSTOMERS!!!
I went to one of the drag brunches for my birthday and had a fantastic time! The entertainment was fun and eventful. I really enjoyed the buffet and the variety of food they served. The drinks were also delicious. I really enjoyed myself and I am glad I ended my birthday celebration there. I HIGHLY recommend checking out the drag brunch!
Visiting DC and the website says happy hour all day on Sunday. Not true. Bartender and food service both said that is not the case. Don't bother. Pricy drinks
Do NOT OPEN A TAB HERE. They lost my credit card last night and forged my signature and created their own tip amount. When i called to ask if they had my card, they lied to me saying that i had closed my tab and they had given my card back. So not only did they lose my card, they commuted forgery and didn’t even apologize or compensate in any way.
It's a pretty fun bar. The music isn't bad but it's always very crowded which is probably a good sign. The staff is super friendly and the nice thing is that there is food around for when it closes late on a Saturday night. Upside: the drinks are reasonably priced for what you're getting. Downside: floor usually seems extra dickey here
I have visited Nellie's several times over the years. Tonight, I was waiting for my boyfriend to come up the stairs and was waiting on the platform for him. No one else was on the stairs, but a very rude employee screamed at me that I could not stop on the stairs. I tried to tell him that I was waiting on my boyfriend who was walking up the stairs with our drinks, but he screamed at me again to keep moving. I waited for my boyfriend instead of leaving him and then walked up the stairs once my boyfriend reached me. The employee followed me up the stairs and told me I had to leave because I was rude. We had just ordered drinks so had to guzzle them before I left. I guess he had some kind of complex and threw me out because I didn't move when he said move, but luckily we were able to get into an even better bar across the street called Dirty Goose. Nellie's seemed over--rated and over--crowded, honestly too mediocre of an establishment for the employees to be so rude to patrons. With so many good places to go on a Saturday night, you would think they would treat paying patrons better. I'll be going elsewhere from now on.
