Great place for food and drinks. There has been clear effort to elevate the quality of the food over more standard fare with attention to plating. Tried 5 dishes and all tasted great.
Amazing food. First experience with Scandinavian food, but simply delicious.
One of my preferred spots for scandinavian food. Came in on a Thurs. I look forward to a return visit. Similar to a cafe in Las Vegas I loved.
Awesome night with cocktail, cheese plate, beef cheek and meatball. Service is awesome too.

Often unbalanced (too sweet, acidic). Appetizers are inconvenient to split/assemble. (For example, the “taste of herring” was both too sweet and inconvenient). Elk was unpleasantly gamy. Butter was tasty but the bread was a bit dry and crumbly. Several unimpressive boiled potatoes. Lots of interesting and novel flavor combinations with anise / fennel (or similar herbal notes) but I didn’t particularly love any of them.
Simon the bartender is amazing and hospitable. The rest of the staff is lovely but the food will leave you wanting more. It's all delicious and the ambiance and inviting and not stuffy. Enjoy!
Great food. Had the beef cheeks and two other dishes. All tasted great. Prices are fair. Where it loses its two stars is service. Waitress proposed bread but did not mention that it came at an extra charge. Not very honest; should’ve at least mentioned it. Nice place to try something new and different but unsure if we’ll ever return.
Good place for delicious Scandinavian food. i love this place, excellent food & service. bring your appetite because portions are generous.
This establishment is located in the downstairs of a hotel in the old world section of San Francisco - away from Union Square. The aesthetics reflect traditional minimalist, but elegant, Swedish design. Our group gathered in the back room at a long table dining family style. It seemed dressy or nice casual would be an exceptable dress code. It was part of our family Xmas Eve tradition to dine at Gustaf Anders in Orange County for an authentic Christmas Swedish smorgasbord. We have been grieving and searching for a replacement since it closed a few years back.
We met with friends at this place for a meeting. This place was recommended to us by a friend. Well, we were not disappointed. The staff members were extremely nice and we had a great feeling. The food was just great. We enjoyed every moment and we will visit this place again. We recommend this place to all.
