The dishes at Punta Cana Caribbean Restaurant are largely Dominican and Puerto Rican, and owner Jarlis Lugo maintains they cannot be found anywhere else in Houston. The restaurant has been open for four years, and he has customers coming to him from as far as New Orleans and San Antonio.

Good food, bad customer service. The only 2 persons who gave great service we believe it was the owner " when he saw how the waiter ignore us" and the lady at the door which gave us a table. The waiter didn't provide a good service and lacks of paying attention. That's what happens when you impose a fixed amount of tip on the bill when it should be depending of the service provided. We travel an hour to get to this place, and for a first impression it failed on the must important part of a business. SERVICE...

Food is great. But the server don't know how to split the check and work the check out system. Been waiting for th check for 15 minute... So if you want a quick meal, this is not the place.

Food is very good and the staff is excellent. 3 stars only because is over priced and they charge an extra 3% if you pay with credit card without letting customers know. Also note that tip is included on bill automatically.

The fruit juices are delicious and made of pure fruit. I had the shrimp mofongo, and it was delicious! The staff is friendly and efficient

Overall, was a great experience. Waitress reviewed all the food with our table, and brought an off the menu appetizer sampler to start us off. Was impressed with all the meals that were brought out, and can't wait to go back again.

Overall good food but when I got the check, they charge twice for taxes. They taxed for the initial cost of the food and taxed again for the final price with the first tax. Isn’t this illegal?
