This restaurant was a fantastic experience even though our party was probably a bit Obnoxious and loud we were still treated very very well the staff were competent and fun to be around. The price was extremely fair for the quality of food we were served. there was not one complaint about our visit to this restaurant. I've lived in Austin for years and never been to this restaurant this will now be one of my favorite places and I will take all my out of town friends here. If you're considering this restaurant please find time to stop in. It is like visiting another world and its believable just for a bit.
Great cozy atmosphere, large dining area and smaller cozy rooms. Tons of infused vodka. Need to try the food.
This was our second trip to the russian house. Great place in Austin with very authentic food that is just like a visit to Russia or Ukraine. The pictures below are the fish plate, salmon caviar, cow tongue and welcome platter with vodka shots. The atmosphere will take you to a house in the old USSR. The waiters are very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. In the evening they have live music in the bar area up front. If you're in Austin Texas i highly suggest stopping by this place.
Wide selection of flavored vodkas. Food was excellent if ya get there before 9pm. Bartender was super nice. Great experience.
I love going to Russian restaurants. Came all the way from Houston for this one. Decor made me feel like I'm back at my grandma's house. Complimentary shots of Vodka with some Soleniya at the beginning of the meal. Yes! That's the right way to do it. Borsch with beans? Yes, I'll take it! Ginger clove nutmeg infused vodka - yes, holidays! I wish I could order every single thing. Will be back, just get your restrooms right, fixed and clean, please!
Absolutely great! The food is heavenly good just like back in mother Russia! The place has unique and very interesting atmosphere like soviet style apartment. They have so many different vodka flavors!!! If you want to experience real Russian food actually staying in America you should definitely visit this place! Also wanna say thank you to our server Sergei he’s really cool and we appreciated his service:) definitely gonna be back when we’re in town again!
Their caviar is absolutely delicious! Their traditional meals are pretty good as well, but the caviar was just stunning and beautiful. The specialty vodkas were not my favourite except the more sweeter inclined ones, but I believe that is more of a personal preference. The atmosphere is homey but fits a more business casual/formal vibe , so dressing/cleaning up a bit before coming is my advice. My party and I came on a dancing night and enjoyed watching the various dancers take the floor.
Hosted a decent-sized party here and they were the most gracious hosts. The wait staff, manager, and kitchen all deserve top marks for going above and beyond last night. Truly unforgettable service.
Cute decor with vintage photos on the wall. We were greeted with complimentary shots of vodka, the best dark rye and pumpernickel breads I’ve ever had, radishes, and pickled cabbage. They have a MASSIVE selection of house-infused vodkas. My elk pelmeni dumplings, and my husband’s soup-filled dumplings, were fantastic. This spot is not to be missed!
I had a terrible experience at the Russian House. For a friends birthday, we made a reservation for 20+. We were told a room was reserved for us. We waited almost an hour past our reserved time and were told that a party was late clearing out the room. Finally, they told us that actually the room had been double booked and we didn’t have a table. They were not apologetic, nor did they try to make any accommodations for us. We left and had a lovely meal somewhere else. The bartenders were very friendly and helpful at the Russian House, but that was it.
