Overpriced and under delivered. I recently did a boudoir shoot with Sarah Lindsay and I have never been so disappointed. After everything was said and done, She charged me $2,760 for ten digital images. This included hair and makeup, the two-hour shoot and the ten digital images. The shoot itself was $600, and each image was $200. Plus $160 in tax. I felt incredibly ripped off after this experience. She did nothing to justify charging so much. The photo editing was a joke. The boudoir setting was disappointing. It consisted of a couch, a mirror, a rug, and a window. THAT'S IT. The makeup artist drew my lips crooked and left me looking like I had dark circles under my eyes. When I asked about editing that out, Sarah Lindsay agreed but said that I should "embrace my imperfections." Right. I decided to research what I would have paid other boudoir photographers in the Denver area for a very similar experience. Sarah Lindsay charged $2760. The quotes from SEVEN other highly rated and talented photographers ranged from $700 to $1450. A $1310 -$2060 difference. What kind of a person does that? I did email her very politely with the estimates from seven other photographers that ranged from $2000-$1300 less than what she charged me. I asked for a partial refund. She refused and sent me back copies of the "Sales Agreements" that I had signed. I really am a very nice, understanding, and easy-going person. I feel that I was very positive and easy to work with during the photo shoot. It is rare that I fell this upset about anything. I feel this was an injustice and I am not going to be quiet about it. Sarah provides the full-package experience for senior photos from wardrobe selection to hair & make up the day of the photo shoot. She has several beautiful locations to choose from including city and mountain landscapes. Sarah did a terrific job capturing my daughter's energy and smile. She spent a full two hours shooting in 5 different outfits to provide variety. We are so happy with her senior portraits. I look forward to seeing my daughter's smiling face (albeit behind clear acrylic :) every morning in our kitchen long after she leaves for college.
My daughter's experience with Sarah was fantastic! Sarah is an amazing photographer who genuinely cares about her clients and strives to create an unforgettable senior photo experience. Beginning with our first phone call, Sarah made every effort to develop a relationship with my daughter, learning as much as she could about her interests and passions. At her design and wardrobe appointment, in addition to helping my daughter pick out outfits that best represented her personality, Sarah also ensured that my daughter understood the photo shoot process. On the day of the photo shoot, Jessica, Sarah's hair and makeup artist, helped her make final makeup and hair preparations. At the photo shoot at Standley Lake, Sarah and her team helped my daughter stay relaxed and calm while also having fun. We were so pleased with our final pictures, they were truly beautiful!
Sarah Lindsay puts a lot of effort into her work which is present in each of her photos. Each photo, although they have the same outfit, are different in their own unique way. Her artistic approach has no comparison! Working with her was uplifting and fun! I hope to do another shoot with her soon.
