Best choice I ever made!! Don't let others tease you for taking a class that can better your skills. They say you can only learn by being behind the bar. Wrong!! You can't learn behind a bar that doesn't have the time to train you. So take the reigns and be ahead of the game. If you're looking to be in the ever changing industry this class will prepare you for it. James was the best instructor and gives you every chance to improve and learn. The school was very understanding with scheduling and payment plans. Would highly recommend every time.

This is definitely a place you learn by doing. Not only teaching you how to make drinks, or hold a bottle. Also getting you comfortable to make the drinks and show your personality Jim has been the best instructor I have ever had like period... Always connected with all his students, more than just a student teacher. Cracking jokes every step of the way! The benefit of taking the course is the help you get with finding a job, which I do have to say is highly dependent on yourself. They give you a list of who to call/visit. Then it is up to you to make it happen. During my course a few employers actually came in and gave out their information, which is what landed me my first bartending job, not even a week after graduation. If you are a go getter, with a positive attitude, this is the place for you!

Great school, great course, Amazing instructor! I was immediately skeptical of his... style... of doing things, but the only thing I have to say is TRUST JAMES. I cannot stress that enough. He will teach you everything you need to know if you simply follow his instruction and work hard. If you trust James, the only reason you wouldn't learn everything about bartending and enjoy yourself while doing it is because you weren't meant to be in the bar business in the first place. Overall great experience, flexible scheduling and makeup hours available. Also help with job placement. I had a two job offers before I was finished with the schooling!!

An absolute wonderful two weeks spent at this place! James is a fantastic teacher and I feel like I've learnt all I need to know to start working as a bartender. Highly recommend this to anyone that's thinking of starting a career in bar work. Such a great price for so much knowledge.

I had a fantastic time at the Texas School of Bartenders. I learned a lot, it was an exciting and friendly environment, and I came out of the program really feeling like I was ready to take on a job as a bartender. Also the director of the Austin program, James, is a blast. Overall, 10/10.

Wasn't to sure if I wanted to become a bartender, but I took a shot at taking the course & I must say I've learned enough to jump behind a bar & make drinks. James was very responsive & open with my schedule, he made learning easy & fun. I really enjoyed it and the ability to go back to work on my skills if I need to is a great option to have.

I entered this place very nervous because I knew absolutely nothing about alcohol. I went in, had fun, learned a lot in two weeks and enjoyed myself at it. James is an incredible and dedicated instructor who does his best to cater to his students’ needs. You can see he absolutely loves what he does and knows how to keep it from getting boring. Because of his instruction, I feel very capable to work at a bar and enjoy it. The only reason one wouldn’t be successful is if they’re not cut to be a bartender, that simple. Flexible schedule, makeup hours, job placement, and food recommendations all the time.

The Austin school of bartenders is phenomenal!!! Not only is James(instructor) an absolute blast to be around the lessons are well thought-out and easy for beginners to grasp.. I got a job on 6th street just a few days after completing the course, I can say I would not be there if it weren’t for James, and the school. FAST. FUN. EFFECTIVE! Took less than a month from the time I decided to be a bartender to working in a bar on 6th.
