Wow that was a really great video on the news of your football coach punching another during play in front of children, then the whole aftermath of tech children acting like cockroaches. Appears that your school teaches grave sportsmanship towards all. Bravo at helping make our city even more trashy..
It's a good school if you want an education. I went there 47 years ago. Have a nice day.
LMAO. Do not consider this school to send your child. The problem with this school is the students. In one corner you have someone falling asleep, smoking weed, taking pills, ,not paying attention or skipping class. Half the time the teachers are trying to settle down the class. Many students hate this school because the teachers do not teach well and throw a packet at you. Every school has their negatives and positive but this is definitely in the negatives.
Arsenal Tech is a great school with a variety of classes. It offers engineering classes, many languages to learn, and I believe the school is great (as in the buildings are wonderful but the cafeteria food is iffy.) The only thing that bothers me are the students. Rude, annoying, talkative, disrespectful, and so on. Looking for a school to skip classes and possibly start a fight just because someone bumped into you? This is the perfect school (note in the sarcasm I've used because this school doesn't need anymore idiots roaming around.) Although the students are... boorish, I do give credit to the teachers. They work hard and teach pretty well (in my opinion.) Long story short, good school with irresponsible and ridiculous students.
Parent of a child at Tech, also went there for 2 years myself before being transferred due to bullying and racism. The black kids are extremely racist, in my experience, and in my son and his friends' experience. Some friends and I literally got "jumped" for being white. No provocation, a group of black kids decided to stop, wait for us to pass, and sucker punch us as we did. It happened often. There was nothing done about it by the staff because honestly, there's nothing to BE done about it. If you can't use physical force on animals, they won't behave. The curriculum is not bad, and if you can get into all "honors" classes it's not quite as bad. If not, and you care about your child and think they have potential, make the effort to get them into any other school."Chocolate Daddy" and "suckit hard", sadly, are going to be some of the most intelligent kids you'll find at Tech (excluding the Magnet programs, or whatever they're calling it now). Good luck
The doors all are squeaky
As a graduate of Arsenal Tech, I am proud to say I received a pretty decent education. Some teachers are a hit and miss when it comes to quality, but when it comes down to it they do care about your success. I know of a post about this school that makes it seem bad, but that person never complied with anything and then threw a fit when ask to correct himself, or his belongings. Great school, amazing campus, and really good after school activities.
They told culinary students who already PASSED the ISTEP that they couldn't do pro-start because it fell in ISTEP testing week which isn't fair to the kids who actually would've brought tech more money if they placed this year.
The NP Judith Aigner (eskenazi employee) at the clinic was very rude to my child, would not even give her any Tylenol. My daughter had the hot and cold chills and a sore throat. She was told to walk back to class to get a pass because she came during passing period. Not taking in consideration my child does not feel good. The last thing she wants to do is walk across campus. I called to see what was the reason behind her actions, Ms Aigner was very frustrated as I could tell by her voice, she was huffing and puffing over the phone.. I could feel her eyes rolling. I understand a lot of kids flood the nurses office, but she was just down right rude. Of course she apologized for her actions after I addressed her behavior. Ms Mary Booner the RN called my child back down and attended to her with care and kindness!! I cant stand how some of the good kids are overlooked due to sooooo many rude and disrespectful students. Some of the staff at ATHS need a refresher on respect and kindness. Good teachers are far and few between there. Glad this is my childs last year!!! EDIT: I just love Mr Bryant and Mr Floyd, they are trying their best to get that school in order!! They need help from home. Parents get your kids acts together, they do as they see!!!!
there are fights nearly every day, they're infested with mice and roaches, teachers have no control over the students, and they use outdated books and computers, only at IPS will your child not succeed.
