Dr. Maria Wynens is known in the Atlanta area as the “audiologist in cowboy boots” – but she would prefer patients remember her as the Doctor that is here for them today, helping them hear tomorrow. For more than 28 years Dr. Wynens, the Atlanta Hearing Doctor, has been pursuing her passion of improving people’s lives one ear at a time. When she is not giving back to the lives of others by improving their hearing, Dr. Wynens is also passionate about spending time with her family and two Labrador retrievers, as well as cycling, gardening, and photography.

In Atlanta visiting family. Problems with my hearing aids. Google search led me to Dr. Wynens. Left a voice message indicating my problem and out of town status. Received a prompt return call. A visit to her office quickly resolved the problem. Having my hearing aids working properly allowed for a very pleasant visit with my family. Thank you for the prompt and effective service.
Dr. Wynen was incredible to work with. Very informative and felt very taken care of. The appointment was very enjoyable and walked away knowing I was taken care of. Excellent and definitely will be going back when necessary.
I cannot adequately express what a positive experience we had with Dr. Wynens. My 94 year old mom has struggled with increasingly diminished hearing for years. She has had 3 different hearing aids with little hearing improvement. I found Dr. Wynens online; what a stroke of luck! After a thorough exam, she spoke to my mom about the extent of her hearing loss and patiently explained her options. While she mentioned the advantages of the higher end hearing aids, in no way did she push the more expensive options. Mom was fitted this week with the new hearing aids, and we were both amazed in the difference it made with her hearing. She feels that this is life changing for her. I cannot imagine an audiologist with a better bedside manner or who seems to take such pleasure in her work. I highly recommend Dr. Wynens!!

Five stars are absolutely earned by Dr. Wynens! The focus of her practice is completely on the patient and what is best for the patient. It's so refreshing to have someone practice medicine rather than just use "cookbook" solutions. If you are looking for a hearing help, Dr. Wynens is the go to person!
I am so very surprised by the positive comments about a, " patient focused" atmosphere. That appeared to be the case during my almost 90 year old mothers initial experience with Dr Wynan, but it has not been the focus since. My mother purchased 2 hearing aids- one recommended by Dr Wynan for an ear that was categorized as legally deaf. This was an expense my mother should not have incurred since the hearing aid for this ear has proved ineffective When we went to the follow/ up appointment & expressed concerns- Dr Wynans was rude and impatient with my advocacy for my mother, asking me if "I was done"? . Further when my mom asked her a follow-up question, Dr Wynan's reply was, "the answer is on the paper I gave her". So, patient focused- definitely during the sales process. After that however, you better not express a concern or question anything because the patience with patients & their advocates dissolves.
I’m truly grateful for the amazing experience I’ve had with the Atlanta Hearing Doctor and I now consider myself a life-long patient. After being fit and taught about my Direct to iPhone hearing aid, I was amazed that all its functions could be controlled by my iPhone. Connecting via Bluetooth, it even routes my iPhone’s audio directly to my device. Within moments of my fitting, my life changed forever! I felt as if I was hearing life for the first time. Thank you Dr. Wynens!!
I had a fantastic experience with Atlanta Hearing Doctor. My visit was to both have a hearing exam and also to have a custom mold made for special musicians earplugs. Dr. Wynens was friendly and professional and took time to discuss my exam in detail and answer all questions I had. Will recommend to anyone needing a hearing specialist!
In my 2010 search for the ideal hearing aids and an audiologist I was comfortable with, I discovered Dr Wynens. The aids she recommended for my particular needs and preferences after trying various models have served me well during these eight years and I've recently upgraded to aids having the latest technology, again through Dr Wynens--the best vote of confidence possible. Appointments for any necessary adjustments have always been pleasant, professional, quick and hassle-free with little or no wait. Parking a few steps from her office door is free--a rare bonus.
Dr. Wynans has provided me with audio services for the last eight years and my hearing has been dramatically improved as a result. She has excellent diagnostic skills and stays up to date regarding technological advances so that a patient receives the best possible outcome for improved hearing. More reasons that I highly recommend Dr. Wynans: she is professional but friendly; booking appointments is easy; she returns phone calls; surface parking is free. But best of all, I hear well because of her! Many thanks to Dr. Wynans and her courteous staff!
