George's Ice Cream & Sweets
- 5306 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60640
Company Description
The store was established in 2009 and is owned by the Stotis family. Our inspiration for this shop is George Stotis, philosopher, thinker, Pappou and friend to many in Chicago. George was the proprietor of Andersonville’s own Chicago Recycle Shop which was located next door just north of George’s Ice Cream and Sweets. Chicago Recycle was a staple in the Andersonville neighborhood for almost 30 years and a favorite destination for local actors, students, and antique dealers.

Loved the quality of the ice cream at this little hole in the wall! Such a cute spot to stop in and get a cone.

Terresa , a staff member who took care of us, has a very pleasant personality with great people skills. She's a Keeper. We will definitely be back. The ice cream was delicious.

Extremely happy we were able to try this place without any waiting. We were seated immediately and put in our order not too long afterwards. We shared one of their large sundaes and it was amazing! One of the bet I've had. Love the atmosphere, very charming and the staff was great. I look forward to coming back.

We had our baby's first birthday party here and it was so much fun! Everyone was so helpful in getting it set-up and giving suggestions for how to setup the space. We had a sundae toppings bar with six toppings + whipped cream. Everyone got their ice cream from the counter and decorated with toppings back in the party room. It was easy, delicious, and fun! Perfect for a first (or hundredth :) birthday!

We like coming to this place in the summer. They have lots of board games if you want to just sit down and play with everyone in the family while you enjoy your ice cream. You can do lots of people watching too.

Such a cute place. The line really wasn’t long for 7pm on a Saturday. The staff was quick and attentive. The junior scoops are definitely big enough. The single scoops has two scoops. I will definitely return.

Cool ice cream place with lots of unique flavors and space for hanging out. They also serve bakery items and coffee, but we just stopped in after a long walk for ice cream. Cool store with a lot of character and friendly service.

This place is usually packed because they are one of the best ice cream places in Andersonville. They have a wide variety of flavors to choose from and my fave would be the green tea ice cream. There's also a lot of different combinations of ice cream flavors and cones to choose from and they also have gluten free option. They also serve cakes and pastries here and their red velvet cupcake is a must try.

Great lively ice cream place. There are a lot of options and even vegan & gluten free options. They have a shelf with board games so I was able to sit and enjoy a game of Guess Who while eating my ice cream. It gets pretty busy. Staff was very nice

Came in on a whim and tried the bourbon ice cream with a coffee infused whiskey scoop. This is some seriously good ice cream. If you're in the neighborhood I highly recommend it.
