This doctor was unattentive, exhausted, costly and just flat-out wrong about my diagnosis. I went to him for a second opinion and he saw me for a total of 15 minutes-AFTER he ordered several thousand dollars worth of xrays and bloodwork. I waited several hours to actually see him. He is a money-printing machine. He should stick to reserch and give up on patients (I think he's already given-up). His bedside manner is terrible, like he doesn't want to be there. I will never return, nor will I recommend him to someone else.

Dr. Katz is truly an amazing doctor. I have never met another doctor that is so knowledgeable and talented; yet so kind and compassionate. Chicago is lucky to have a Rheumatologist like Dr. Katz in our area. I have talked to people that have traveled thousands of miles to see him because nobody else has been able to help them. Dr. Katz truly cares for his patients. He makes you feel comfortable and really listens to what you are telling him. When I am sick, there is only one doctor that I trust and that is Dr. Katz. I highly recommend Dr. Katz. Trust me, he is worth the wait.

After firing 4 Rheumatologist and having no one my South Suburban Lupus Support Group recommended Dr. Katz. Expecting a long wait to get in, I was able to get an appointment in 3 day's. He reviewed all my medical records, did an exam, some lab's which I had never heard of and I've had many, went back and we'll wouldn't you know, I had thing's that were there but was never told. I adore him, his staff and his personality. He's a busy man for sure but you get what you pay for and I know this 1st hand and wouldn't change rheumys ever...

Had me on a benzodiazepine for 31 years. Had his nurse call me up one night at 8pm and she told me he did not want to be my doctor anymore. I was one of his patients for 32 years at that point. Never owed him any money, never late for appointments, never missed appts., never had disagreement on anything. Had only 2 weeks left on current prescription, asked for a couple of months prescription to get to next doctor but he wouldn't prescribe any. Asked to talk to him on phone, he wouldn't. Had to go and get a months supply from my cardiologist to hold me over till I could get to next doctor. Do not know how after being a very good patient you could get abandoned like that. Especially on a drug that will give you siezures if you stop abruptly like that. These are just the facts, be careful.

a very tired doctor who is too busy to care with adequacy. instead of actually examining the patient, he sits with his head in hand, barely making eye contact, while thinking of all the different ways he can escalate your bill. you can choose a better doctor than this.

I went to Dr Katz for a second opinion of my husband's arthritis diagnosis. He inspired confidence the moment I saw him. With his wealth of experience, he was quick to prescribe some tests which immediately showed that he had a debilitating illness that he's currently getting treated for. He has been a real savior. Even while the tests were ongoing, he and his office (Alice is amazing) kept following up to make sure we were not losing any time to get the tests underway. After he referred us to the pulmonologist he still following up with us to make sure we were getting the help we needed. A truly amazing professional, great bedside manner and a kind person. Go to him if you want the best care for you or your loved one.

Dr. Katz and his staff truly are amazing. He is not only brilliant, but patient and incredibly kind. He has helped me regain management of my health and I cannot say enough good things about him. The office staff, Alice and Nurses are also phenomenal. If you are struggling, don’t wait another second. Make the appointment!
