I have two children at Kick Start Martial Arts (KSMA). My 12 year old daughter was among Mr. Beaty’s first group of students. She started at age 5, earned her black belt two years ago and over the years, she has become a highly confident pre-teen. I have noticed positive changes in my 8-year-old son since he joined two years ago. All martial arts programs emphasize self-control, discipline, perseverance etc. What sets KSMA apart is: Mr. Beaty strives to instill all the above qualities in his students plus building character, confidence and leadership skills. Higher ranking students as young as 9 years are given the opportunity to teach beginner classes. Mr. Beaty balances his approach to discipline. He is so tough when a situation necessitates it, but he is able to show his soft side too. Occasionally, Mr. Beaty invites professionals to conduct anti-bulling workshops. I highly recommend KSMA.
Even as a new student, I have seen a tremendous difference in my hyperactive child with this teacher and school. It is a joy to see my son feeling good about his skills and to observe Renard Beatty teach and practice these skills.
Its an awesome space and Mr. Beatty is all about bringing out the best in the students. My daughter has really grown in a few short months. I highly recommend this school for discipline, emotional growth and self confidence.

My daughter has studied martial arts with Mr. Beaty at Kick Start for 7+ years and loves it! The instruction and facilities are top notch. During her studies she has developed a real sense of confidence in her athletic abilities as well as her desire for excellence.
Our 5yr old son has been thrilled with his experience at Kick Start Martial Arts. We bring him every week to attend classes with the other children. It has been an excellent experience since we started a month ago. All of the staff is helpful and friendly. The children really love it and the environment is positive and great for confidence building. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.
Very nice school to study in. Has a wide variety of classes for all ages and ranks.
