Loyola gave me a fantastically well-rounded education. "Educating the whole man" is more than a catchy slogan, it is basis for learning the Truth through the Jesuit perspective that prepares students for the reality of life.
Five stars so far, something still needs to be explored. The services and information are really good.
Really well maintained campus with excellent academic offerings!
great school but too much traffic when commuting
What I like best is walking along the campus by the edge of the Lake, by the Chapel. It’s serene and beautiful and ever-changing.
This is the place I dream to be, I wanna be there. looking forwad to experience for the gain of knowledge and wisdom instilled within the University. being there is my dream come true, From Africa to the world, I am the change.
All these one star reviewers would have no complaints if it was slander against Islam. Either we have blasphemy laws or we dont, you do not get to pick and choose.
Sad to see what has happened to Loyola under the misguided "leadership" of Jo Ann Roony. Ms. Roony, I have contacted your office several times without the courtesy of a return call or email. Perhaps you should consider showing more respect to Alumni.
Everone knows the Lakeshore campus. Buildings like Dunbach. Cudahee. Madonna Dela Estrada, the beautiful chapel. But the heart of Loyola? A Jesuit education. The Marines of Catholicism. Set a standard for excellence. Professors known internationally. Like Patrick J. Casey, who taught Irish Renaissance plays, poetry and literature. Very special man. "Oh c'mon. C'mon. I know somebody knows this." Brilliant. Inspired. Knew detail after detail of the Dublin of John Joyce. Yeats and Lady Gregory. Cu Chulainn. Made them so relevant, alive. Raised the bar for what it meant to be a teacher. Inspired you to research, memorize, synthesize. That's what makes professors great. They inspire you to learn. Actively not passively. Like Thomas Kaminski, also in the dept of English. Exacting.18th century Lit. Made it relevant for that time. Critical when he saw you did not work up to your capabilities. Praised when you reached beyond. Came to the graduation of a student who everyone else initially thought would never succeed. Dr Michael Masi. Taught Chaucer like no one else. Word by word. Painful but rewarding. Even Jeffrey Harder, who could get past talking about Danny Ortega to teach film criticism well. Absolutely rich, meaningful, great education. You can skim by, get C's, or benefit from professors who care more about teaching than their salaries. Did not just sit around & lead time-consuming discussion groups. Actually Taught. Loyola. Beautiful Lakefront campus. Great education. Go Ramblers.
Coming to this school was literally the worst decision I’ve ever made in my life. Didn’t learn anything dealing with my major and now won’t even give me my transcripts because I still owe them money. The administration doesn’t care about you or your struggles unless you’re paying them and I have countless friends who would agree.
Loyola University Chicago is a fantastic place to get an education. Loyola's community is very supportive, accepting, and diverse. LUC has amazing professors who take a real interest in the students and help foster an excellent learning environment. Loyola's study abroad programs are second to none. The education that you receive at Loyola can take you anywhere.
