My name is James Schultz, co-owner and operator of The Guitar Store. After many years of working in and managing music stores in the Seattle area, I finally decided it was time to open the store I always wanted to shop at. As a guitarist, I have spent endless hours and dollars looking for that right neck, tone, string, delay, or feeling. Working with guitarists, I have found that I am not alone. Everyone who enjoys playing, from the hobbyist to the professional, knows that thrill of picking up the right instrument. The one that writes songs for you. Everyone has different needs, and as we evolve, those needs change.

Rude customer service, their four eyed staff did not allow me to test or even touch their high end guitar because he states its not for testing and thinks that I’m not buying. Why would I buy an instrument without testing it and how can you tell if I’m a buying or have the money to pay for it? Maybe because he’s profiling or just a racist. Take your money elsewhere.
Excellent guitar shop, also has kids band instruments for rental. Great staff!

I live a couple hours away from Seattle, but sometimes when I’m going to be in town I’ll look over the inventory of local guitar shops to see if there is anything I want to go check out. Of every guitar store in Seattle, this one has the most useless website.
Best pedal selection in the region, these guys even go to NAMM and try everything out. I have bought a lot of gear from here, travel all the way from Carnation just to test all the amazing pedals. Their Amp selection is sweet too, eventually I will get a PRS here as well.
I brought two different guitars in for setup and minor repairs and they did a great job. Nice guys who know their stuff, a very well curated selection of guitars, amps, and effects as well.
Stopped in while in Seattle with my son who is a young musician and he was treated like a seasoned vet. The staff listed to him and what he was trying to accomplish and provided him with some great feedback and recommendations. Will be back next time we are in the area. Customers for life.

Great place, certainly the best in Seattle and in Washington State. INSANE effects pedal selection, possibly the best in the entire country for a walk-in store. Good guys, work hard to keep even the smallest things in stock, and absolutely the place to go if you are a pedal addict or a guitar addict. These people will sell you the stuff you need to calm your addiction.
