My mother was brought to Rex by ambulance from another hospital due to a ceasure and heart attack. I have never experienced such wonderful and thoughtful people as the employees and caregivers at Rex. My family would like to give a special thanks to nurse Melanie Joy Davis, thank you Mrlanie for being our Angel of mercy and love. We are forever grateful. Kim Callaham Adkins and family, kelly Jo Callaham Bates and family from Brjnging up Bates , UP TV. Tgank you all so much.
I did not have a good experience here so this would have been 2 stars. However, I met with a brilliant general surgeon here who I respect a great deal and is helping me out with a sports injury unrelated to my trip to the ER. Because of him (Dr. Weinreb) I have lifted 2 to 3 stars; however, if you go to the ER for something and are on medicines that are the type where people may judge you, expect they will not give you adequate replacement and bring your own medicine(s). They don't want you to take medicines they can give you but you will find they're not in an immediate rush to get anything to you unless you are near death or the medicine is life saving. I believe it is unfair for any physician to judge someone without adequately looking into someone's medical history to see what they are being treated for so decisions are informed and not opinionated. The rest of the staff besides the ER doctor seemed nice but I felt judged during my visit. I would give them a 2nd chance on any given emergency as you can't assume every experience is the same.
My dad was taken to the Rex ER from an ambulance, he crashed his car into a hydrant. When arriving to the hospital, my sister found my dad leaning over the side of his bed almost ready to fall out. He hadn't been seen yet by anyone. He had an oozing head wound and was bruised up. He wasn't seen by the physician for another hour and subsequent CT scan and x-ray took another hour. They hadn't bothered cleaning his head wound or monitoring his vitals during the visit. He was discharged with a head wound they told us to clean and bandage. The ER was virtually empty. My dad has good insurance I expected better.
Great experience here! Staff are all professional and just extremely nice. They took my health seriously and didn't rush me out. I felt confident that I was getting the best treatment available.
Rex has made me feel so welcomed while my mom under went a hip replacement and i am 3 months in on breast feeding everyone helped me find a place to pump as my child wasn’t with me. I am so thankful for everyone and how considerate they were of me pumping.
I delivered at Rex and had a WONDERFUL experience and have chosen to deliver there again for my second pregnancy. The nurses and doctors were all great and my process was very uncomplicated!
I do not like the ER,however an abnormal EKG,shortness of breath and chest pain brought me here. I waited triage nurse had me as a completely different patient. Red Flag! I was taken by wheelchair to sit,be forgotten about holding a cup of urine. Waited forever, tachycardia,HR,never left 135bpm. CT scan to r/o pulmonary embolism. First doctor is all about “if the CT doesn’t show anything we will figure it out.” My husband arrives to me back out in the waiting room. People around us asking him “is she okay”? I could not see faces just hear. Finally CT scan, lands an arrogant ER physician with 2 students in the room because the CT was clear. So,why the pressure, irregular HR,chest pain? No answer other than bronchitis...I am allergic to opioid pain medication. I am not even sure they had the correct patient. I have worked in the medical field beginning with the ER. I knew I was being charged for every moment I waited for my discharge paperwork. I removed my own IV line, discarding it in the biohazard box. I walked out of the room assisted by my husband,to let the nurse kindly know I am to old for this. She was the only kind person there. I left with heavy chest pain and a HR of 135. I am still having a heavy chest and severe chest pain. I am writing this in case I don’t wake up. I am someone’s daughter, someone’s wife, and first and foremost a mother and Grandmother. When treating patients always think about that. I am not finished with this by any means, please believe that.
Had fantastic service in the emergency room during the night shift. Low wait time, fast and reliable service!!

P.S The Radiation department was The 💣🌹awesome they were so sweet warm blankets and smiling faces love them ..
Love Rex. Just had our second baby here and both times we had good experiences. They tend to over communicate, in a helpful way, everything a new parent needs to know. The staff seems to be ready to help and typically on top of things. Waiting, triage, delivery and recovery rooms are all comfortable and adequate for what they are. The recovery rooms have been especially pleasant. Favorite part of this hospital is the generous courtyards which kept our older son sane while visiting.
