Here at Albuquerque Transmission Repair our goal is to provide honest, affordable, & excellent transmission & general automotive repairs. As a technician, I have been working in the Albuquerque Transmission Repair industry for 21 years. Though a couple of jobs were with local independent shops, the majority of the time was spent as a “Transmission Builder” with a large national franchise where I received excellent training and had many great experiences.

This was the most responsive, friendly repair shop I have ever dealt with. They repaired a transmission leak on my Ford Focus in a timely manner. There is comfort in knowing that you can trust this mechanic shop. From start to finish this company not only cares about getting your car repaired, but they value the relationship with you the customer, and their reputation in the Albuquerque community. Ben is amazing! I was having transmission issues and had taken it to several places before finding him and he fixed my transmission, was reasonable but most of all made me feel like family! All I can say is thank you and your wife! My car runs better now than it ever has and I will come back and send everyone there!
I was very fortunate to find Ben... I have never experienced a shop that treats their customers with the *highest level of professionalism* and respect that is as friendly as Ben's... He performs his work with reliability and at *very reasonable prices*... Ben is an expert mechanic who takes pride in his work... Hands down the best in Albuquerque!
Ben, Orlando and ABQ Transmission were terrific. We were driving through Albuquerque on our way to Texas in our F350. Transmission started slipping badly on the I40 and we were able to limp the truck to Ben's shop. There were chunks of clutch material in the oil pan - not good. Ben presented 3 replacement options. 24 hrs later, after Ben worked late, the transmission was replaced and we were back on the road. We drove 1000 miles finishing our trip and the transmission feels great. Ben is thorough, detailed and conscientious. Great job 👍
One of the worst customer service experiences I have had. Dan was insanely rude in his handling of a simple question. After the negative review was added he calls me immediately to try to rectify the situation. Sorry Dan. Try not to talk to potential customers that are looking for help like they are beneath you.
Took my car in for transmission work, owner Ben took excellent care of me and rebuilt my transmission had him repair an oil leak. He did an oustanding job car runs like new again! Did it all in a very timely manner and great price! Highly recommend this shop. Will give him all my future buisness.
They do good work
ABQ Transmission & Auto Repair helped me when my car broke down unexpectedly. Ben was more than happy to take my car in and find out what was wrong with it, he even checked in when my tow was taking too long and I had not arrived yet. He addressed the issue, was very informative and honest with pricing, and answered all my questions. What I thought to be a transmission issue was actually a crankshaft sensor, Ben saved me a lot of money with his thorough inspection and diagnosis. I got my car back running better than it has in a while and a new mechanic that I can count on for any future maintenance/repairs. Wasted my time here. Left a part too be worked on and was promised by Ben D. that it would surely be done before 1 PM on a Saturday. It was not. Gave me a song about other priorities which is no concern of mine. I guess the customer is not a priority. This delayed my business trip by two days. Would never recommend to anyone!
Was told he’d be able to rebuild my transmission when I dropped it off. A month later after he Dissassmbled it (and gave back to me in pieces) I was told by him that parts for my transmission are not in production anymore and he wouldn’t be able to source anything to be able to rebuild it. This was said after he had taken it apart. After having to pay 200 bucks to get my transmission back disassembled piece by piece it could have all been avoided if he just said from the beginning that he can’t source parts for that transmission. Instead he took it apart and charged me $200 for that, only for me to have to come pick it up in pieces. Not very professional and in my opinion was just a means to make a quick buck.
